Structure of the Work
The suite consists of four books, each containing three pieces, making twelve pieces in total. They capture the sights, sounds, and rhythms of Spain, particularly the region of Andalusia.

Orchestral Arrangements: Although originally written for solo piano, parts of Iberia were later brilliantly orchestrated by Albéniz's friend Enrique Fernández Arbós, and later by Carlos Surinach.
