Das Stück beginnt mit einer langsamen Einleitung in d-Moll, worauf ein schnelles Allegro vivo folgt. Nach einem weiteren Teil in D-Dur erfolgt eine Rückmodulation nach d-Moll, der Csárdás endet schließlich in D-Dur.
